Expanding upon concepts in her book by the same title, Samantha Zipporah provides clear & grounded information about plant-allied fertility management in this afternoon workshop. The distinctions among contraception, emmenagogues, implantation inhibition, & abortifacients will be illuminated. 

Rooted in reproductive justice, honoring ancestral & indigenous practices, we will begin with a discussion of historical & political realities to help demystify the cultural amnesia that plant-allied fertility management is mired in today. 

After this important conversation to establish context, we will dive into womb cycle anatomy, the fundamentals of fertility awareness as contraception, & specific herbal actions. Participants will learn about how emmenagogues can affect specific types of tissues, circulation, & hormonal balance to promote menstruation in case of an “oops”. A few specific plant profiles will be given as examples, but content will focus on a broader conceptual understanding rather than specific materia medica or dosage. 

The intention behind this offering will be to inform rather than instruct.
