Identifying & invoking a Sacred Yes while avoiding pregnancy is what puts the consciousness in “Conscious Contraception.”
Our capacity & right to say NO to pregnancy is sacred.
However, that “no” does not exist in a vacuum.
It is defined by our desires.
These desires are also sacred; & while they are generally plural, I like to call them…
The Sacred Yes.
For most people, the motivation for practicing any form of contraception includes the desire to say YES to sexual connection & pleasure, without it resulting in pregnancy. Naming & claiming this desire for sexual connection & pleasure is powerful in itself.
Beyond sex & pleasure, most of us avoiding pregnancy also desire to invest our vital life energies & attention in activities & goals that are not pregnancy or parenting. Some of these desires or goals could be negatively impacted or completely destroyed by an unwanted pregnancy. Identifying these desires can inform us about our purpose & passion in the world.
Invoking & honoring The Sacred Yes can make practicing fertility awareness as contraception & sexual experiences acts of ritual & mindfulness.
In this Fruit of Knowledge Learning Circle we will explore & cultivate the foundational Sacred Yeses that motivate our Conscious Contraception practices.
Our time together will include:
physical & practical applications for honoring your Sacred Yes while avoiding pregnancy
a brief review of fertility awareness as contraception
peer counseling
journal prompts
somatic experiencing
intro to sex magic
intro to ovarian kung fu
Emphasis will be placed on the virtues of practicing fertility awareness as contraception, however, folks using any strategy for avoiding pregnancy are welcome to join.
